Here you can find Dr. Payne’s current post-operative, pre-operative, and non-operative protocols. Be sure to check back frequently as we are constantly adding to and editing the protocols. Keep in mind that every injury and surgery are unique in their own right, and Dr. Payne may deviate from a protocol based upon his clinical judgement. The intent of these protocols are to provide the clinician and patient with a guideline of the rehabilitation course. It is not intended to be a substitute for appropriate clinical decision making regarding the progression of a patient’s course. The actual physical therapy management must be based on the surgical approach, physical exam/findings, individual progress, and/or the presence of post-operative complications. If a clinician requests assistance in the progression of a patient post-surgery, they should consult Dr. Payne.
